Project Veritas executives admitted in depositions to accessing James O’Keefe’s private contacts and even sharing personal messages with outsiders. Staff members sent O’Keefe threatening and obscene messages, some of them later apologizing, only to lash out again. The very people who once praised his leadership now ridiculed him in private group chats and public posts.
Perhaps most astonishingly, the same organization once famous for defending free speech is now fighting in federal court to keep depositions and documents sealed from the public. As James has pointed out, “You don’t earn a protective order just because the truth might annoy you.”

The Birth of Something StrongerBut if the board believed James O’Keefe would simply walk away from his mission to pursue the truth, they were mistaken.
James O’Keefe launched O’Keefe Media Group (OMG), a decentralized citizen journalism movement designed to be leaner, stronger, and harder to silence. Alongside it, he founded the Citizen Journalism Foundation (CJF), a nonprofit dedicated to protecting whistleblowers, defending the First Amendment, and funding investigations legacy media will not touch.
Together, OMG and CJF don’t just continue the mission—they expand it. Instead of one vulnerable nonprofit, there is now a decentralized network of citizen journalists across the country, armed with cameras and conviction.
But if the board believed James O’Keefe would simply walk away from his mission to pursue the truth, they were mistaken.
