In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, O’Keefe Media Group (OMG) continues its investigation into FEMA’s disaster relief efforts, focusing on transparency and accountability issues that have left many survivors without answers.
During a recent visit to a FEMA lodging facility in North Carolina, James O’Keefe pressed an official from Strategic Security Corp. for information on the movement of disaster relief resources. When O’Keefe asked, “We just want to know where the cars are going,” the official responded bluntly, “If they didn’t give you the information you want, then go.”
This interaction highlights a larger trend of evasion and dismissal, as FEMA staff redirected questions to the media affairs team, yet residents’ vital inquiries about disaster relief went unanswered.
O’Keefe also referenced troubling revelations from FEMA whistleblower Kelsey Goodman, who stated that “DEI is part of the core values of FEMA” and added that FEMA does not serve people who display a Trump flag on their property. When O’Keefe pushed further, a FEMA employee sharply responded, “I’m not a spokesman for FEMA, dude,” attempting to deflect accountability.
When asked about the status of disaster relief, FEMA officials cited safety concerns, claiming they were “not allowed to give out that kind of information for safety reasons” before refusing to answer any more questions.
As survivors continue to wait for tangible aid, O’Keefe Media Group is committed to digging deeper into why FEMA’s promises are failing to translate into real action.
Stay tuned for Part 3.
