LEAKED VIDEO, MAY 2023: Project Veritas Staff Called for Veritas Board Member Matthew Tyrmand’s Resignation in Footage Tyrmand Wanted “Purged”

“They think that you’re using the organization [Project Veritas] for personal vendetta… and vengeance against James [O’Keefe].”

“You should immediately resign and leave. Effective immediately.”

“You should immediately resign and leave. Effective immediately,” said Project Veritas video editor Jake Mantel, in a newly released video showing former Project Veritas board member Matthew Tyrmand being confronted by employees who accused him of dishonesty and calling for his resignation.

In recording, employees speak candidly about internal discourse, expressing their desire to move forward without Tyrmand. “You also asked me this morning, should I resign? And I think it’s an unequivocal yes,” Mantel added.

At one point, Mantel accuses Tyrmand of lying during a private conversation. Tyrmand responded, “That is an incorrect fact pattern,” and claims he was misrepresented, only for Mantel to fire back, “Stop lying… You can’t cover your ass.”

Angelo Martinez, an IT staffer, continued, “We’re tired of the chaos. We want to get back to work… The only walkout should be Matt Tyrmand.”

The confrontation stems from what staff describe as repeated drama and mismanagement. “We’re tired of the rumors, tired of getting anxiety… The mission can’t continue if every other week we’re going to have high school drama,” Martinez furthered.

The footage also reveals concerns that Tyrmand was using the organization to wage a personal vendetta against Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe. “They think that you’re using the organization for personal vendetta and that you’ll drive it into the ground just for your personal justice and vengeance against James,” interim CEO Hannah Giles.

The video’s release is particularly notable given Tyrmand’s own attempt to suppress it. In a May 24, 2023 email to Project Veritas board member Tom O’Hara, Tyrmand wrote: “Your assurance, that upon secure transfer to me of this unsanctioned and illegally recorded (sans consent) captured exchanged audio/visual file, it shall be purged so that it is not used extra-judicially in any way, shape, or form is appreciated.”

He continued, “A board meeting of a non-profit is not a public forum or setting so by default there is a good faith level ‘reasonable expectation of privacy’ and so should that leak in an attempted weaponization of fact pattern for whatever reason, that would clearly be problematic.”

The footage coincides with Tyrmand’s deposition under oath, happening now.
