O’Keefe Media Group has secured another significant legal victory. Today, May 14, 2026, Senior U.S. District Judge Anthony J. Trenga in the Eastern District of Virginia granted the organization’s Motion to Dismiss, fully dismissing the lawsuit filed by Amjad Fseisi.

Fseisi, a consultant who has worked with various federal agencies including the CIA, sued O’Keefe Media Group after the organization published undercover footage from May 2024 in which he stated, “We [CIA] kept information from Trump.”
Fseisi brought claims of fraudulent misrepresentation, conspiracy to commit the same, and violation of the Federal Wiretapping Act. The lawsuit targeted OMG for simply reporting and quoting what Fseisi said on camera during a political journalism operation.
In a strong Memorandum Opinion and Order, Judge Trenga ruled that O’Keefe Media Group’s activities are protected First Amendment newsgathering. The Court rejected the wiretapping claim, noting that Virginia is a single-party consent state and that Fseisi failed to plausibly allege any separate tortious or criminal purpose behind the recording.
The case (1:25-cv-02368-AJT-WBP) has now been dismissed in full.
This outcome sends a clear message: O’Keefe Media Group does not settle lawsuits designed to silence investigative journalism. OMG has repeatedly demonstrated that they will not be intimidated by powerful individuals or expensive legal battles. As those who try to silence this work through litigation will lose.
